March Madness

March has been a crazy month! - It actually all started the last weekend in February with Nick's sister Ashley's bridal shower - and since then it has been non-stop running - but LOTS of fun!

The first weekend in March, Ashley received her Endowments at the St. George Temple. Afterwards, we had family over to our house for a lunch. It was a beautiful day! It was very fun to have everyone over, and catch up with them.

That same weekend, Nick's brother Gus was ordained an Elder, by Nick. So we headed up to Minersville for a quick trip. This was such a special event for Gus, and Nick was very honored to ordain him.

Thursday night, Gus and his wife Adrienne came to St. George to receive their Endowments. Nick, his brother, and sisters were all able to be in the Temple together. It was a very neat experience for all of us.

Friday morning we headed to Minersville to help set up for Ashley's reception. It turned out great! We headed to Manti - because Ashley and Devin were getting hitched' in the morning.

Saturday was a beautiful day. It was Paige's first time inside the Manti Temple. It was so pretty! The ceremony was very nice. It was a special experience to have all of Nick's siblings there . We had a quick luncheon in Ephraim, and headed back to Minersville for the reception.
The reception was great! We couldn't have done it without the help from some great friends! Our friends/neighbors the Webbs were life savers. As well as the McKnight family from Vegas, and Nick's sister Cynthia's sister-in-law Candi. They were such troopers! They kept the chocolate fountains running and the food looking great!
Then we had a week to 'rest' - okay - well back to our normal work routines -

This last weekend - we were able to attend the Temple again with Gus and Adrienne, and their four kids - to watch them be sealed as an Eternal Family. It was such a touching experience.

After the Temple, at the dinner - Paige asked our 5 year old niece, Alyssa, what her favorite part of the night was. Alyssa said, "being sealed!" Paige asked her what that meant, and she clapped her hands together so tight and said, "being stuck together on this planet and the next!" Then Alyssa asked Paige if that meant she was sealed to us. Paige told her yes, and she said, "cool dude!" and gave her two thumbs up! It was so cute!

On Saturday morning, we headed to Salt Lake for the final reception in Magna for Ashley and Devin. It was very nice. All of Nick's family stayed at the same hotel - and it was fun to be able to spend some relaxing time with them.

We woke up to snow on Sunday morning - and had a long drive home - but no trip to Salt Lake is complete without stopping at Cabela's! We loved seeing all the animals! Paige especially liked the Zebra!

Next weekend is Nick's Grandmas 80th birthday - so we'll be heading back up to Minersville to have a shin-dig.

We have been very blessed this month - to be able to witness so many spiritual milestones in our families lives.

Update

Some of you may be aware that we have been trying to become pregnant for the past 3 years. This has been a challenging experience for us; as we share a strong desire to have children. We have discussed and prayed about this trial often; and we feel in our hearts, at this time, that adoption is the right path for us to have an eternal family.

We have started the adoption process with LDS Family Services, and we are currently in the approval process. It won’t be long before we are approved; perhaps in the next couple of weeks! Adoption is such a blessing. We feel privileged to have the opportunity to adopt in our lives. We know that adoption is the way that children will come into our home; and this is Heavenly Father’s plan for us.

We have heard many stories of couples that become pregnant after they have been approved for adoption. While these are wonderful experiences, this is not our intention. We have both had confirmation that adoption is the right choice for us at this time.

We have been told by our social worker that more than half of adoptions come through family and friends, and their acquaintances. We are excited about this opportunity in our lives, and we are anticipating our little miracle.

In addition to our family blog, we started a blog that has information about us for birthparents. Feel free to check it out, and share it, if an opportunity arises. www.paigeandnick.blogspot.com
