March Madness

March has been a crazy month! - It actually all started the last weekend in February with Nick's sister Ashley's bridal shower - and since then it has been non-stop running - but LOTS of fun!

The first weekend in March, Ashley received her Endowments at the St. George Temple. Afterwards, we had family over to our house for a lunch. It was a beautiful day! It was very fun to have everyone over, and catch up with them.

That same weekend, Nick's brother Gus was ordained an Elder, by Nick. So we headed up to Minersville for a quick trip. This was such a special event for Gus, and Nick was very honored to ordain him.

Thursday night, Gus and his wife Adrienne came to St. George to receive their Endowments. Nick, his brother, and sisters were all able to be in the Temple together. It was a very neat experience for all of us.

Friday morning we headed to Minersville to help set up for Ashley's reception. It turned out great! We headed to Manti - because Ashley and Devin were getting hitched' in the morning.

Saturday was a beautiful day. It was Paige's first time inside the Manti Temple. It was so pretty! The ceremony was very nice. It was a special experience to have all of Nick's siblings there . We had a quick luncheon in Ephraim, and headed back to Minersville for the reception.
The reception was great! We couldn't have done it without the help from some great friends! Our friends/neighbors the Webbs were life savers. As well as the McKnight family from Vegas, and Nick's sister Cynthia's sister-in-law Candi. They were such troopers! They kept the chocolate fountains running and the food looking great!
Then we had a week to 'rest' - okay - well back to our normal work routines -

This last weekend - we were able to attend the Temple again with Gus and Adrienne, and their four kids - to watch them be sealed as an Eternal Family. It was such a touching experience.

After the Temple, at the dinner - Paige asked our 5 year old niece, Alyssa, what her favorite part of the night was. Alyssa said, "being sealed!" Paige asked her what that meant, and she clapped her hands together so tight and said, "being stuck together on this planet and the next!" Then Alyssa asked Paige if that meant she was sealed to us. Paige told her yes, and she said, "cool dude!" and gave her two thumbs up! It was so cute!

On Saturday morning, we headed to Salt Lake for the final reception in Magna for Ashley and Devin. It was very nice. All of Nick's family stayed at the same hotel - and it was fun to be able to spend some relaxing time with them.

We woke up to snow on Sunday morning - and had a long drive home - but no trip to Salt Lake is complete without stopping at Cabela's! We loved seeing all the animals! Paige especially liked the Zebra!

Next weekend is Nick's Grandmas 80th birthday - so we'll be heading back up to Minersville to have a shin-dig.

We have been very blessed this month - to be able to witness so many spiritual milestones in our families lives.

Update

Some of you may be aware that we have been trying to become pregnant for the past 3 years. This has been a challenging experience for us; as we share a strong desire to have children. We have discussed and prayed about this trial often; and we feel in our hearts, at this time, that adoption is the right path for us to have an eternal family.

We have started the adoption process with LDS Family Services, and we are currently in the approval process. It won’t be long before we are approved; perhaps in the next couple of weeks! Adoption is such a blessing. We feel privileged to have the opportunity to adopt in our lives. We know that adoption is the way that children will come into our home; and this is Heavenly Father’s plan for us.

We have heard many stories of couples that become pregnant after they have been approved for adoption. While these are wonderful experiences, this is not our intention. We have both had confirmation that adoption is the right choice for us at this time.

We have been told by our social worker that more than half of adoptions come through family and friends, and their acquaintances. We are excited about this opportunity in our lives, and we are anticipating our little miracle.

In addition to our family blog, we started a blog that has information about us for birthparents. Feel free to check it out, and share it, if an opportunity arises. www.paigeandnick.blogspot.com

Talents

My friend from high school has a blog for her hand made jewelry - and she is having a clearance sale! She does AMAZING work - so check it out! http://accessoriesalamode.blogspot.com/

I have so many friends - with great crafty talents -who have turned their talents into a business- check them out - they are all on my side bar! I wish I could be as crafty and as driven as these amazing ladies!

Primary

We started attending our home ward the first of this year - And - of course they recognized our talent - and snagged us right up - to work in the Primary! We've now had two weeks of teaching the 4 year olds - and let us just say - Wow! They are just little bundles of energy! They've told us some pretty funny stuff!! We are excited for the calling - but - it takes a lot of work keeping their attention! Last week we took a reverence jar - to earn a party! Mostly we just got told over and over "Teacher, look! I'm being reverent!" We are having lots of fun though!

Nick's 30th Birthday Bash!

Howdy! We've had lots of fun lately! Nick turned 30 on the 16th! And of course we had to have a bash! This year - we had a WHITE TRASH BASH! Oh my heavens! We had so much fun planning the party!

What a sexy tat Paige!!

We frequented the DI- and bought many exciting ... treasures! Including new furniture! We redecorated our house! It blew some people away! No trailer is complete without a singing fish, collectibles, tacky decor, and horns! We even got wicker plate holders, and napkins from fast food restaurants. We moved out our kitchen table, and moved in the patio furniture!

As our guests started arriving at our 'double-wide'- we could hardly contain our excitement! We had SO much fun! We had everyone dress up like "white trash!" We had hunters, sluts, plenty of beer, cigarettes, gomer teeth, belt buckles, hats, and trashy tattoos! We've never laughed so hard! The dress-up was the highlight of the evening!

We served junk food, had a Twinkie Eating Contest, a 'doobie rollin' contest, and we even drug a couch behind the truck! Yes - we were true WT!

And in the middle of our bash - a repo guy showed up at our house, looking for our neighbors so he could repo their car! It was a highlight!

We know this is a lengthy slide-show, but we hope you enjoy some of our highlights!

To continue the birthday celebration, we went to Vegas, and spent a few days - just relaxing! We ate at Cheesecake Factory - our all time favorite! And we saw Reba in concert! She was amazing! And - - Barbara Jean from the TV show 'Reba' was there too - and did a comedy act! We had a great time!

I am so thankful for Nick, even though he is an old fart!! :) He is such a great husband, and I am so blessed to be able to call him mine!

The Holidays!

Well - It has been a long time since we posted! We hope that every had a great Christmas! We sure did!

On Christmas Eve, we headed to Paige's moms. Luey had a great dinner prepared! Paige's brother Mike, and his wife Summer came down! And as usual - Mike was the life of the party! It was so fun to be able to spend some time with them! We had lots of laughs as we played catch phrase, and the hand slap game!

Paige worked on Christmas morning for a few hours, so of course the little children in us- we got up at 330 to see what Santa had brought us!

Nick being surprised!

Paige being surprised!

We had decided that we would keep Christmas low key - cause we've had so many fun adventures this year! But Paige is not very good at keeping the rules - and she got Nick ....

His very first....

Hand Gun!

He was so surprised and excited!

After Paige got off work, we headed over to her Mom's for our traditional Christmas Breakfast! You've got to love Luey's Christmas Eggs and Monkey Bread! It was fun to spend time with Paige's brothers and sister!

Nick worked the day after Christmas, so after he got off, we headed to Minersville to visit his family!

On Saturday morning, we went to the farm with Nick's brother Gus. We got to feed the cows - and of course - no trip to the farm is complete without a ride in the tractor!

Nick - what a Sexy Farmer!

Us in the John Deere!

Nick's brother, Gus, was driving another tractor - and one of the lines froze- because it was so blasted cold out to the farm! So Nick had to steer while Gus worked the gears manually from OUTSIDE the tractor! I had quite a few laughs watching them! They eventually got their telepathy going - and it became a smooth operation!

Nick Headed over to check on Gus when his tractor froze!

A perfect operation!

Because they both had to operate one of the tractors - that left me - to drive the John Deere - pulling the full feed bucket - back to the shop - oh man - I was so nervous! and I went SO SLOW - but it was fun - I even sang "HE Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" to myself!

Then we went to check the water - and of course the pump had frozen over. So Nick and Gus set up the propane tank - got a flame going, and set out to thaw the pipes. Gus told me later, that Nick had propane fumes on his pants, and when they opened up the flame, Nick caught on fire. Of course Nick didn't tell me, cause he knew I would have freaked out! I seriously checked Nicks legs the rest of the day, and asked him a zillion times if he was okay!

Nick - coming out of the pump house!

Nick and Gus in the pump house.

The best part about waiting for the pipes to thaw - was that we got to go try out Nick's new gun! We headed out in the truck - to hunt rabbits! It was so much fun! I couldn't load Nick's clips fast enough! It was a good thing I bought a brick of 400 bullets! I even shot A rabbit - and of course - it was the ONLY one that cried! If you've every heard a rabbit cry - you know what I'm talking about - it was so sickening! I was done shooting after that!

NEW YEARS EVE

For New Years Eve we had some friends over for games, play the Wii, and breakfast! We had a great time! We hung out with Blair and Vanessa, Matt and Amanda, Troy and Andrea, and our friends Craig and Sarah were here from Connecticut! It was fun to hang out with them!

We hope everybody had a great holiday season, and we wish you all a great New Year!
